Welcome to Spruce & Pine Retreats - Aurora Alerts

We're currently in the development stages for an easy to use, reliable app that will alert you when the Northern Lights are out over Fairbanks Alaska. Many times Lady Aurora is elusive until she comes out in her full glory at 2 or 3am. Our goal is to provide, not a forecasting app for the Aurora nerds, but a simple AI powered app that will let you know when there is activity being reported in Fairbanks; or there is a high likelihood of the Northern Lights being visible based on models from NOAA and others.

Where & How to See the Northern Lights at Aurora

Knowing what direction is North

If you don't have a compass app on your phone, or you're not familiar with the night sky, just go out the side door and turn right. At the back of the cabin, when you're looking at the birch trees behind the cabin, you are looking in the right direction. To the naked eye the Aurora bands might appear as light clouds when the conditions are minimal. Use your camera to see them better. 

At the Aurora Dome

Look in the same direction as stated above. The deck has been built to face you in the right direction for the best viewing experience.
